BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) has achieved a remarkable feat, becoming the third-fastest exchange-traded fund to reach $10 billion in assets under management. The fund accomplished this milestone in just 251 days since its launch last year, showcasing the growing institutional appetite for cryptocurrency exposure.
According to Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas, ETHA's rapid ascent places it behind only two other funds in the speed of reaching the $10 billion mark - both of which are cryptocurrency ETFs. The fund demonstrated explosive growth, adding $5 billion in assets in merely 10 days, a phenomenon Balchunas described as the "equivalent of a God candle" in market terms.

Recent weeks have seen spot Ethereum ETFs experience significant inflows totaling $4.4 billion since July 3, including a single-day record of $726.7 million. This surge contrasts with Bitcoin ETFs, which have faced $289 million in outflows over the same period, according to SoSoValue data.
——Nate Geraci of NovaDius Wealth Management noted: "For three crypto ETFs to dominate the growth rankings in an industry with 4,400 products spanning three decades is extraordinary"——
While ETHA's performance is impressive, it still trails BlackRock's own Bitcoin ETF, which shattered records by hitting $10 billion in just 34 days after its January 2024 launch. The asset manager's success in the crypto ETF space underscores its ability to bridge traditional finance with digital assets.
The rapid adoption of these products signals a major shift in investor behavior, with crypto ETFs now accounting for three of the four fastest-growing funds in history. As the market evolves, analysts will be watching whether Ethereum can maintain its recent momentum against Bitcoin's established dominance.
